My career of choice is to become a history teacher. Ive had to opportunity to teach others and the feeling I get is greater than any other profession that I could think of.Ive attended public schools all my life, and Im finally realizing what teachers actually do for the community and for individual lives. Ive had experience with teaching while I was part of the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps. My junior year, I was class leader, which means act as a teacher and mentor for the underclassmen. At the beginning of my junior year, I was nervous, and often time scared. As the year progressed, though, my students were developing into cadets. I didnt realize it at the time, but it was because of me. I showed them and taught them. I enjoyed everyday of it.
Teaching, for me, is the best way to help my nation. Thats my reason for pursuing this career. As I look back on my high school, middle school, and even elementary years, I cant help but think about those adults dedicated to my success. Their whole mentality was to better the education of our nation and to see their students succeed. I want that feeling.
